Unleash Your Inner Wild Child

Three Sixty Ecotique Vintage Fashion

Every once and awhile it’s fun to stop and embrace that inner rebellious child. You know the one that demands ice cream with gummi bears, rainbow sprinkles and any number of odd combinations  only a 5 year old would think is delicious. The child that used to watch Saturday morning cartoons and pretend the carpet was hot lava. The one that would color outside the lines. The one that lived in this moment right now and didn’t care what anybody thought.

Today’s photo shoot unleashes that inner wild child, complete with a vintage Strawberry Shortcake crop top and neon green lightening bolt earrings both found only at 360 Ecotique.

Best Movie Fashion – Almost Famous

Almost Famous Movie Fashion

We asked which movie YOU felt had the best fashion and the votes are in!

You guys are just dieing to get into the closets of Penny Lane from Almost Famous!

There is just something about that free spirit style, that mixture of sexuality and innocence. A little skin, some lace, mix in some crochet, a bit of fringe, some fur, lots of chunky rings, add a little champagne and you got it.

That Jacket steals the show, Kate Hudson who?

The Spring Seersucker Ride – Chico Events

Chico Tweed Ride presents the Seersucker event this spring. Proudly supported by Three Sixty Ecotique

When: May 19 10:00 am

Where: Downtown Plaza

What: The Chico Tweed Ride is a group bicycle ride through the centre of Chico and beyond, in which the cyclists are expected to dress in traditional Early American or British cycling attire, particularly tweed suits. Any bicycle is acceptable on the Tweed Ride, but classic vintage bicycles are encouraged. Some effort to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is always appreciated. Riders will loop through Lower Park stopping half way for drinks, songs, and lawn games. This is a social ride and kids are welcome as long as they are able to ride in large groups safely.

The Mission: To encourage the beauty and spirit of an era gone by – a celebration of the bicycle and a more gentile time!

Please visit the official Facebook page to connect with other riders!

Nicki Bluhm and The Gramblers Come to Chico

Nicki Bluhm performing at Sierra Nevada wearing vintage threads from Three Sixty Ecotique

Last week one of our favorite musicians, Nicki Bluhm, came to Chico to perform at the Sierra Nevada Big Room.

A girlfriend and I went to see the show and we were immediately taken with her throwback sound.

The Nicki Bluhm and the Gramblers website describes it best…

A bit country, a bit folk, a bit rock, and a bit soul, Driftwood carves a unique niche into the San Francisco music scene, the city Nicki now calls home. A majority of the tracks on Driftwood have the lo-fi feel of times past, an homage to the greats of rock and country who blazed their paths on AM radio airways and jukeboxes. While there’s still plenty of the Nicki fans fell in love with on Toby’s Song to be found on Driftwood, Bluhm and her backing band, The Gramblers, delve much deeper into the artist’s country and blues roots on the album.

Not only does Nicki’s voice inspire me to jump out of my seat and dance with the rest of the crazies, but her fashion sense is something to look up to.

While in Chico, Nicki stopped by our shop and snagged the very outfit you see in these photos.

So there you have it, Nicki Bluhm the blues goddess and Three Sixty Ecotique fashionista!

Make sure you check out Nicki’s latest album, you just might find yourself up and dancing with the fans too!

Reflections on Motherhood – Celebrating Mother’s Day

Silhouette of a pregnant woman for Mother's Day - Maternity Photography by Briana Morrison

This is my first official Mother’s Day, as a Mama that is. On May 21st 2012 my son was born and we are preparing to celebrate his first year in the world next week. This year has gone by so fast and I have been living in a dreamlike whirlpool of so many profound emotions that it would be impossible to find words for them. Mostly I find myself in awe. Not just at my son, but at the entire world. Have you ever been in a huge crowd of people, and looked around and thought to yourself…every single person on earth came out of a woman’s body!?!?!?! That one incredible fact is humbling. We are each born into this world to follow our hearts or fulfill our destiny to live each day until we die and we all started inside someone else.

Wow, crazy.

This little person that grew within my womb is walking now, making talking sounds and trying to figure out how to use a spoon. Someday he will run, swim, get his heart broken, fall in love, fail and win. My heart aches with love as I watch his wings unfolding daily. I’am humbled and proud all at once, a servant to the greatest love.

This whole “becoming a mother” thing is really confusing. You see, I’m still me. I have my own dreams and desires, hopes, fears and hang ups. I have my humanity and yet now, I’m some other persons Mommy. I’m supposed to know things. Things no one has ever told me, and if they did I would never have believed. Like this love would break me, into a millions different parts in order to full-fill a million different needs. Or try to at least.

So this is my first official Mother’s Day. My thanks and praise this Mother’s Day go out to all of it. My entire lineage of Mama’s and all the others too. My thanks goes to the planet, Mother Supreme as she continues to nurture and house and feed us all as we still grow inside her belly. Our wings unfolding, the miracle continuing.

Happy Mother’s Day Everybody

Celebration

This coming Sunday is Cinco de Mayo, and though this video is a little more Dia de los Muertos, we couldn’t get past the beautiful story it tells of love, loss, and reunion.

Stay safe this weekend, celebrate with your loved ones, and continue to live every day to its fullest.

Lots of love from the Three Sixty Ecotique Team.
